Content ratings can help you make informed streaming decisions for you and your family.

Ratings are set by Max or by local organizations.
Max has a dedicated team that reviews content and works with local organizations to set the most appropriate rating for each country.
Max includes content descriptors, when appropriate and necessary.
Ratings may vary by country.

Where can I find content ratings in Max?

Content ratings appear throughout Max. Here's some of the places you'll find ratings:

On the title's description or more info screen
In the upper-left corner when you first start watching something
In search results
In the video player
On the Home screen

TV and movie ratings

Max ratings vary by location. Find your country or region below:

Singapore

In Singapore, Max uses the following Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) ratings:

G (General): Suitable for persons of all ages.
PG (Parental Guidance): Suitable for all ages, but parental guidance is recommended for younger viewers.
PG 13 (Parental Guidance for Children below 13): Suitable for persons aged 13 and above, but parental guidance is advised for children below 13.
NC 16 (No Children under 16): Restricted to persons aged 16 and above.
M18 (Mature 18): Restricted to persons aged 18 and above.
R21 (Restricted 21): Restricted to persons aged 21 and above.

R21 content

Accounts created in Singapore require a Profile PIN to access R21 content while in Singapore. For more info, go to Max Profile PIN.

TV series ratings: The ratings on a TV series details screen are the highest maturity rating for an episode in the series.

Other countries and regions

Max uses the following ratings:

G (General): Suitable for persons of all ages.
PG (Parental Guidance): Suitable for persons of all ages but parental guidance is recommended for younger viewers.
13+: Suitable for persons aged 13 and above.
16+: Suitable for persons aged 16 and above.
18+: Suitable for persons aged 18 and above.

Ratings and traveling

Content ratings are based on your physical location. If you travel to a country with a different content rating system, shows and movies may be rated differently.
Downloads: The rating is set by the country where you download the show or movie.

Set ratings for a Kids profile

You can create a Kids profile that limits what content your child can watch based on the ratings assigned to the content. By default, a new Kids profile is set to Pre-teens ( PG rating ).

When you edit a Kids profile, you can choose from the following rating groups:

Little Kids (G) - Suitable for all kids.
Big Kids (PG) - Suitable for older kids.
Pre-teens (PG) - Suitable for most pre-teens. May include mild language, suggestive dialogue, and moderate violence.
Teens (PG 13 / 13+) - Suitable for most teens.

When you set ratings for a Kids profile, that profile can only watch episodes and movies at or below the ratings you selected.
