Change an Amazon-billed subscription

If you subscribed on your Amazon Fire TV or Fire tablet, then your subscription is billed through the Amazon Appstore.

Billed through another provider? Go to Manage a Max subscription.

Which plan do I have?
  1. In Max, do one of the following:
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription.
      (Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)

When is my next billing date?

Your subscription automatically renews on your next billing date. Here's how to find your next billing date:

  1. Go to amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions and sign in to your Amazon account.
  2. In the Your Subscriptions section, find Max and take note of the auto-renewal date.
How do I cancel?
Things to know
  • Your Max subscription automatically renews until you cancel it.
  • Deleting the Max app does not cancel your subscription.
  • Cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before your next billing date to avoid further charges.

Here's how to cancel your Amazon-billed subscription:

  1. Sign in to your Amazon account at amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions.
  2. Find your Max subscription and turn off auto-renewal.

Once canceled, you should get an email from Amazon confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period. You can resubscribe to Max at any time.

How do I change my payment method?

To change your Amazon payment method, sign in to your Amazon account at amazon.com/cpe/managepaymentmethods.

How do I change my plan?

Amazon Fire tablet
  1. In Max, choose your profile. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose Subscription and then Change Plan.
    (Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
  3. Choose a subscription plan and billing period.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to change your plan through Amazon.

Once your subscription is updated, you should get an email from Amazon confirming the change.

Amazon Fire TV
  1. In Max, choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose Change Your Plan.
  3. Choose a subscription plan and billing period.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to change your plan through Amazon.

When will my plan change take effect?

The effective date depends on the change:

  • If you change to a lower-priced plan, your plan change will happen on your next billing date.
  • If you change to a higher-priced plan, your plan change happens immediately. Amazon will refund you for the remaining days on your subscription plan and charge you for your new plan. Your next billing date will be adjusted.
