HBO Max is now Max
HBO Max is now Max. Here's what you need to know:
On devices where you have the HBO Max app, go to the app store on your device, search for Max, and choose the download option.
If you need help updating to Max, go to Update HBO Max to Max.
Once you've installed Max, you can delete the HBO Max app from your device.
Max includes an expanded library across true crime, documentaries, reality, food, family and home, plus live sports events:
- The best of HBO Max: HBO series and movies, Max Originals, and select series and movies from Warner Bros., the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes, Adult Swim, and more.
- Discovery favorites: The best real-life shows, and more.
Here are some of the changes we made:
- Enhanced personalization and improved search
- Improved performance
- Easier to sign in and use
- Profile PIN for Adult and Kids profiles
- New Hubs and genres
If you subscribed to HBO Max in the past:
- Install Max and sign in with your HBO Max email and password. When you do this, you'll be prompted to renew your subscription and add your payment info. For more info, go to Resubscribe to Max.
If you get HBO with your internet, mobile, or TV package, you may have access to Max at no extra cost. For more info, go to Do I already have access to Max?
New subscribers can sign up through one of our partners or at max.com. For more info, go to How do I subscribe to Max?
Already have an HBO Max account? Sign in to Max with your HBO Max email and password and when prompted choose to renew your subscription. For more info, go to Resubscribe to Max.
Your HBO Max profiles, watch history, and your settings (including parental controls) are available in Max.
There are two things that don't transfer to Max:
- HBO Max downloads: You'll need to download your shows and movies again with Max.
- Custom profile pictures: If you had a custom profile picture in HBO Max, you'll see a generic profile icon in Max (Max doesn't support custom profile photos). If you'd like to choose a different profile avatar, go to Add and manage Max profiles.
You can add a Profile PIN to any profile to keep other people in your household from using your profile. For more info, go to Add a Profile PIN.
Each of your profiles has a My Stuff area with your Continue Watching list and My List.
