Max account sharing

Max accounts are intended for the account owner (the person who created the account) and the people they live with.

If you don't live with the account owner, you need to sign up for your own Max account. For more info, go to How do I subscribe to Max?

Extra Member Add-On

WarnerMedia-billed subscribers can share their Max plan with someone who doesn't live with them. For more info, go to Extra Member Add-On.

Who can I share my account with?

You can share your Max account with the people who live with you (the people in your household).

People who don't live with you (including family members who don't live with you), need to sign up for their own Max account.

'Transfer this profile to your own account' message

Max accounts are intended for the account owner (the person who created the account) and the people they live with.

If you don't live with the Max account owner, you may get a message suggesting you transfer your profile to your own account. If you get this message, you have two options:

This is My Account

If you live with the account owner, verify your account by following these steps:

  1. Choose This is My Account.
  2. Choose Send Code.
    If your email address isn't associated with the Max account, you'll need to complete these steps with the account owner.
  3. Check your inbox for an email from Max with the subject: Your One-Time Max Code. This email should arrive within a few minutes. Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam).
  4. Open the most recent One-Time Code email and enter the code from the email.
    If the code doesn't work, choose Get New Code to get another code emailed to you.

Now you can continue streaming Max.

Subscribe Now

If you don't live with the account owner, you can subscribe to Max and transfer your profile to your own account. Here's how:

  1. Choose Subscribe Now.
  2. Choose a subscription plan and continue.
  3. Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.
  4. Add your payment method and start your subscription.
  5. Choose Start Streaming and then select your profile.
'Get your own account' message

If you live with the account owner, verify your account by following these steps:

  1. Choose This is My Account.
  2. Choose Send Code.

Get the Extra Member Add-On message

If someone who doesn't live with you uses your account, you may get a message suggesting that you get the Extra Member Add-On. For a monthly charge, you can share your Max plan with someone who doesn't live with you. To learn more, go to Extra Member Add-On.

How do you determine which devices are part of a household?

To determine which devices are considered part of your household, we use account and profile information along with a combination of network and device information (including IP addresses, device IDs, and user activity) chosen at our discretion.

What devices are using my account?

You can review the devices signed in with your Max account and sign out of some or all devices. To find out how, go to Manage your Max devices.

How many devices can stream at the same time?

The number of devices in your household that can stream at the same time depends on your subscription plan. For more info, go to Max subscription plans.
