How do I subscribe to Max?
Things to know
- Find out if you already have access to Max (e.g., HBO GO subscribers).
- You can sign up on your device or through a third-party provider.
Sign up on your device
Are you a new or returning Max (or HBO GO) subscriber?
- Open Max and choose Subscribe Now.
- Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
- Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.
'Check your email and password' message? - Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
- Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch Max.
Singapore subscribers: If you're 21 or older, you'll be prompted to add a Profile PIN to your account. This PIN is required to access R21 content. For more info, go to Max Profile PIN.
Note Check with your app store to find out which payment methods are accepted. Not all payment methods are accepted for recurring subscriptions.
Now, you can sign in and stream Max on any plan-supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Once you've subscribed, you can add your mobile number to your account as an additional sign-in method. To find out how, go to Change your account info.

- Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
- Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch Max.

- Open your phone's camera and scan the QR code on your TV.

On your phone or computer, go to max.com/signin. Then, enter the 6- digit code from your TV. Code not working? - Complete the account form and choose Create Account.
'Check your email and password' message? - Go back to your TV to finish subscribing.
Enter Email Address- Choose Enter Email Address.
- Complete the account form, then continue.
- Enter your email and create a password.
- Move down and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.'Check your email and password' message?Choose Try Again to go back and reenter your email and password, or choose Sign In and try signing in with your email address.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
- Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch Max.

Sign up through a provider
Subscription plans vary by provider. For a complete list of providers, go to Max providers.
Contact your internet, mobile, or TV provider to sign up for Max. For a list of providers, go to Max providers.
Once you've signed up for Max, download the Max app and Activate your Max subscription.
Troubleshooting
If you get this message, there may already be a Max (or HBO GO) account with the email address you entered.
In this case, do one of the following:
- Sign in. Sign in using the email address you entered on the 'Create Your Account' screen. If you have trouble signing in, try resetting your password.
- Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your Max account.
If you're still having trouble subscribing, contact us.
If the 6-character code isn't working, here are some things to try:
- Try using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari).
- Try using a private or incognito browser window.
- Enter the code from your TV on your computer instead of your phone (or vice versa).
- Try signing up on a different device.
Try signing out and then back in again. Here's how:
- In Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then choose Sign Out.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Sign Out.
- Sign in to Max and try to watch something.
If this doesn't help, go to Fix a Max subscription issue.
If you're signing up through the Max app, check with your app store to find out which payment methods are accepted. Not all payment methods are accepted for recurring subscriptions.
If you're signing up through another provider, check with them to find out what payment methods they accept.
Sometimes we'll ask you to solve a puzzle to help keep your account secure. If you're having trouble with the Captcha puzzle challenge, choose Restart to start the challenge over.
You can also choose Audio Challenge to secure your account another way.
If you get this message, you may have signed up for a Max (or HBO GO) account in another country or region with the email address you entered. To fix this issue, do one of the following:
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your Max account.
Change your account email. Sign in at max.com/account and change your email to a different email address. Then, go back to the Create Your Account screen and enter your original email address.
