Here's the number of downloads your account can have at one time (across all mobile devices) for each subscription plan.

Max Plan Number of
Downloads
Basic with Ads 0
Standard 30

How do I download something?

What you need:

Here's how to download a show or movie:

  1. Sign in to Max on your phone or tablet. Can't sign in?
  2. Find something to download. Titles that can be downloaded have a Download icon arrow pointing down beside the movie or episode description. Can't find the Download icon?
  3. To check which languages are available for a title, choose the Play icon and then choose the Audio and Subtitles icon speech bubble in the video player. Select your preferred language for Subtitles and Audio, then go back to the content description screen.
  4. Choose the Download icon arrow pointing down for the title. The Download icon updates to show you the download progress. To cancel a download, choose the Download progress icon animated circle and then Cancel.
Storage
  • Downloads are stored on your phone or tablet's internal storage (downloads can't be saved to an SD card).
  • To find your available storage space: Open Max, choose your profile, then App Settings > Download Settings.
  • The amount of storage space you need depends on the length of the title and the download video quality.

What subtitles and audio are downloaded?

Max downloads include the original audio track, subtitles and audio in the language you last selected in Max (if available), and English closed captions.

For example, if you start watching an episode with Spanish audio and subtitles and then download the episode, Max will download Spanish audio and subtitles (as well as English if it's the original audio track).

How do I watch my downloads?
  1. In Max, choose the Downloads icon arrow pointing down (bottom edge).
If the current profile is an Adult profile, you'll find downloads for each profile on your device. Kids profiles can only watch shows and movies downloaded by their profile.
  2. Choose the download that you want to watch.

Once you start watching a download, you have 48 hours to finish watching it before it expires. Unwatched downloads expire 30 days after they're downloaded. Once expired, you can renew or delete the download.

Need help? Go to Can't play a download.

How do I renew downloads?

When a download expires, you'll need to renew it before you can watch it. Here's how:

  1. In Max, choose the Downloads icon arrow pointing down (bottom edge).
  2. Choose the Expired download icon clock on the download you want to renew.
  3. Choose Renew Download (an internet connection is needed to renew a download).
