Max Kid-Proof Exit and Parent Code

Kid-Proof Exit is an optional setting to keep your child from leaving their Kids profile. When this option is turned on, a 4-digit Parent Code is required to exit the Kids profile and switch to another profile. Your account has just one Parent Code.

A Profile PIN is an optional setting to keep other members of your household from using a profile. For more info, go to Add or change your Profile PIN.

Add or reset a Parent Code

When Kid-Proof Exit is turned on, you'll need a 4-digit Parent Code to exit the Kids profile.

Here's how to add or reset your account's Parent Code.

Choose the device you're using:

Phone, tablet, or computer
  1. Go to max.com/ParentCode and sign in (if needed).
    Need help signing in?
  2. Enter a new 4-digit Parent Code and choose Save.

Your Parent Code applies to all Kids profiles with Kid-Proof Exit turned on.

TV device
  1. In Max, choose your profile.
  2. Choose the Edit icon pencil below a Kids profile.
  3. Turn on Kid-Proof Exit.
  4. Create Parent Code (if applicable) and enter a 4-digit code, then Save.
  5. Choose Reset Parent Code (if applicable) and enter a 4-digit code, then Save.
  6. Choose Done.

Apple TV: You can create or reset a Parent Code using your phone, tablet, or computer.

Your Parent Code applies to all Kids profiles with Kid-Proof Exit turned on.

Turn on Kid-Proof Exit

Choose the device you’re using:

Phone, tablet, or computer
  1. If your account doesn't have a Parent Code, go to Add or reset a Parent Code.
  2. Go to max.com/editprofiles and sign in (if needed).
    Need help signing in?
  3. Choose a Kids profile.
  4. Turn on Kid-Proof Exit and then choose Done.

Now, your child can't exit their Kids profile without your Parent Code.

TV device
  1. In Max, choose your profile.
  2. Choose the Edit icon pencil below a Kids profile.
  3. Turn on Kid-Proof Exit.
  4. Choose Reset Parent Code (if applicable) and enter a 4-digit code, then Save.
  5. Choose Done.

Now, your child can't exit their Kids profile without your Parent Code.

Troubleshooting

Can't exit a Kids profile

If you forgot your Parent Code and can't exit a Kids profile, reset your Parent Code. Here's how:

  1. Go to max.com/ParentCode and sign in (if needed).

Forgot your Parent Code?

If you forgot your Parent Code, you can reset it. Here's how:

  1. Go to max.com/ParentCode and sign in (if needed).

Forgot or don't know your Max password?

If you forgot or don’t know your Max password, try resetting your password. If this doesn’t help, go to Can’t reset password.
