How do I cancel Max?

Things to know
  • Your Max subscription automatically renews until you cancel it.
  • Deleting the Max app does not cancel your subscription.
  • Cancel your subscription before your next billing date to avoid further charges.

Max subscriptions are available through many providers. The cancellation steps vary depending on who bills you. If you know who bills you, skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Find who bills you

Here's how to find who bills you for Max:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Web: Go to max.com/subscription and sign in (if needed). Can't sign in?
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: In Max, choose your profile and then Subscription.
    • TV device: In Max, choose the Settings icon cog, (lower left) and then Subscription.
  2. Here you'll find who your subscription is billed through (top of screen).

You can also check your bank statements or ask your internet, mobile, or TV provider if they bill you for Max.

Step 2: Cancel your subscription

If you're billed through us (WarnerMedia), here's how to cancel your subscription:

  1. Go to max.com/subscription and sign in (if needed). Can't sign in?
  2. Choose Cancel Your Subscription.
    No cancel option? Take note of who you're billed through (top of screen) and find them in the Third-party billing section below.
  3. Confirm your cancellation and take note of your expiration date.

You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

Third-party billing

Amazon Appstore (Brazil and Mexico only)

If you're billed through the Amazon Appstore, here's how to cancel:

  1. Go to Amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions and sign in to your Amazon account.
  2. In the Your Subscriptions section, find Max and turn off auto-renewal.

You should get an email from Amazon confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

Apple

If you're billed through Apple, here's how to cancel:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
    If you don't have an iOS device, go to Apple's Cancel a subscription article.
  2. Choose your name.
  3. Choose Subscriptions (if prompted, log in with your Apple ID).
  4. Choose Max in your list of subscriptions and then Cancel Subscription.
    Can't find it? Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase your subscription. For help, go to Apple's Can't find subscription article.

You should get an email from Apple confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

Google Play

If you're billed through Google, here's how to cancel:

  1. On the Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app.
    To cancel on your computer, go to Google's Cancel a subscription on Google Play article.
  2. At the top right, choose your profile icon.
  3. Choose Payments & subscriptions and then Subscriptions.
  4. Choose Max in your list of subscriptions and then Cancel subscription.
    Can't find it? Make sure you're signed in with the same Google account you used to purchase your subscription. For help, go to Cancel Google-billed subscription.

You should get an email from Google Play confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

Prime Video Channels

Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico only:

  1. Go to Manage Your Prime Video Channels and sign in to your Amazon account (if prompted).
  2. Find Max in the Your Channels section.
  3. Choose the Cancel Channel option and confirm.

Roku

If you're billed through Roku, here's how to cancel:

  1. On your Roku remote, press the Home button.
    To cancel on your phone or computer, go to Roku's Cancel a subscription article.
  2. Use the directional pad on your remote to highlight Max.
  3. Press the Star button (*) to open the Options menu.
  4. Choose Manage subscription and then Cancel subscription. If Manage subscription isn't available, try these same steps on each Roku you own.

You should get an email from Roku confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

Samsung TV

If you're billed through Samsung, here's how to cancel:

  1. Go to samsungcheckout.com and sign in to your Samsung account.
    To cancel on your Samsung TV, go to Samsung's Cancel subscription article.
  2. From the Purchase History menu, choose Subscriptions.
  3. Find your Max subscription and choose Unsubscribe.

Once canceled, you should get an email from Samsung confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.
