Update HBO GO to Max

Here's how to update from HBO GO to Max:

On devices where you have the HBO GO app, go to the app store on your device, search for Max, and choose the download option.

Once you've installed Max, you can delete the HBO GO app from your device.

Amazon Fire Tablet

On your Amazon Fire tablet:

  1. Open the Appstore and search for Max.
  2. Choose Max and then the download option.
  3. Open Max and sign in.

If you can't download the Max app, try updating your Amazon Fire Tablet:

  • Open the Settings menu, then choose Device Options > System Updates > Update.
  • Once updated, try downloading Max again.
Android phone or tablet

On your Android phone or tablet:

  1. Open the Play Store and search for Max.
  2. Choose Max and then Install.
  3. Open Max and sign in.

If you can't download the Max app, try updating your Android device:

  • Open Settings, then choose System > System Update > Check for update.
  • Once updated, try downloading Max again.
Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

On your Apple device:

  • Once updated, try downloading Max again.

Once you've installed the Max app, you can delete the HBO GO app from your device.
