Forgot my Max email or password
If you're having trouble signing in, use the following info to reset your password or find your account email address.
Reset your password
If you don't know your Max (or HBO GO) password, you can reset it. You need to have access to your account email in order to reset your password.
To reset your password, choose the device you're using:
- Do one of the following:
- On the Max sign-in screen, choose Forgot Password?
- Go to max.com/forgot-password.
- Enter your Max (or HBO GO) account email and choose Submit. Forgot your account email?
- Check your inbox for a Max Password Reset email. This email should arrive within a few minutes.
- Open the most recent Password Reset email and choose Reset Your Password.
- Enter a new password and choose Save.
Now, sign in with your account email and your new password.
If you don't get a Max Password Reset email, go to Can't reset password.
- Open Max on your Apple TV and choose Sign In.
- Choose Use Your Remote.
- Choose Forgot Password?
- Enter your Max (or HBO GO) account email and choose Submit. Forgot your account email?
- Check your inbox for a Max Password Reset email. This email should arrive within a few minutes.
- Open the most recent Password Reset email and choose Reset Your Password.
- Enter a new password and choose Save.
Now, sign in with your account email and your new password.
If you don't get a Max Password Reset email, go to Can't reset password.
Find your account email
If you don't know your Max (or HBO GO) account email, here are a few things to try:
- Search all of your email accounts for an email from Max (if you previously subscribed to HBO GO, try searching for HBO GO).
- Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam).
Once you find the email account associated with Max (or HBO GO) emails, try signing in with this email address.
If you're signed in on a device, here's how to find your account email:
- In Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Account.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Account.
- Take note of your account email address.
Do you have another email address that could be associated with your account? If you do, try these steps:
- Go to max.com/forgot-password.
- Enter another email address of yours and choose Submit.
- Wait a few minutes and check your inbox for a Max Password Reset email.
If there's an account associated with the email that you entered, you'll get a Max Password Reset email. If you don't get this email, try these steps for each of your email accounts.
Mistyped email or no longer have access
