Max is now available
Max is here! Here's what you need to know:
Max is a brand-new streaming service in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Max offers a collection of blockbuster movies, groundbreaking series, family favorites and best-in-class real-life stories from food, home, lifestyle, and documentary.
Dive into iconic brands and treasured franchises like HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, Warner Bros., Discovery, and beyond.
Max is your one-stop destination for Warner Bros. Discovery content like HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, Warner Bros., Discovery, HGTV, and beyond.
The Max app also has many new features:
- Create up to 5 profiles for everyone in your household
- Set up Kids' profiles with parental controls
- Get recommendations based on your watch history
- Enjoy a seamless experience with features like continue watching and downloads
On a Max-supported device, go to the app store, search for Max, and choose the download option.
Current HBO GO subscribers have access to Max.
On devices where you have HBO GO installed, go to the app store on your device, search for Max, and choose the download option. Sign in to Max using your HBO GO email and password. Can’t sign in?
Once you've installed Max, you can delete the HBO GO app.
Former HBO GO subscribers
If you subscribed to HBO GO in the past:
- Install Max and sign in with your HBO GO email and password. When you do this, you'll be prompted to renew your subscription and add your payment info. For more info, go to Resubscribe to Max.
New subscribers can sign up through one of our partners or at max.com (in select countries). For more info, go to How do I subscribe to Max?
Already have an HBO GO account? Sign in to Max with your HBO GO email and password and then choose Renew subscription. For more info, go to Resubscribe to Max.
Max is available on many different devices. To find out which devices, go to Max supported devices.
If you subscribed to HBO GO through us or an app store, there won't be any immediate changes to your subscription price.
If you subscribe through an internet, mobile, or TV provider, your provider will let you know of any price or plan changes.
If you subscribed to HBO GO through an app store or directly through us (at the HBO GO website), you'll have the Max Standard subscription plan. Depending on your provider, you may be able to change your subscription plan.
If your HBO GO subscription was billed quarterly, your billing period will change to monthly on your next billing date.
Additionally, there are 2 new Max plans:
Mobile (in select countries*)
- Stream on 1 device (phone or tablet) at once
- HD 720p resolution
- Up to 15 offline downloads
* The Mobile plan is available in Indonesia, Philippines, and via select providers in Malaysia and Thailand.
Standard
- Stream on 2 devices at once
- Full HD 1080p resolution
- Watch on more devices, including TVs
- Up to 30 offline downloads
Ultimate
- Stream on 4 devices at once
- Stream in 4K UHD (as available), Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and HDR 10 on select titles
- Watch on more devices, including TVs
- Up to 100 offline downloads (limits apply)

Max is currently available in select Asia Pacific and European countries and territories, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. For more info, go to Where is Max available? We anticipate that Max will be available in additional Asia Pacific countries in 2025.
