Add or change your Profile PIN

You can add a 4-digit PIN to your Adult profile to keep members of your household from using your profile. An Adult profile is any profile with Kids Mode turned off.

Once you add a Profile PIN, that PIN must be entered to access the profile. Adult profiles with a PIN have a Lock icon closed padlock.

Add a Profile PIN

Choose the device you're using:

Phone or tablet
  1. In Max, choose your profile and then Edit Profiles.
  2. Choose an Adult profile (a profile with Kids Mode turned off).
  3. Choose Profile PIN.
  4. Enter your account password and choose Submit.
    To reset your password, go to Forgot my password.
  5. Enter a 4-digit PIN and then choose Save.
  6. Choose Done.

Now, you'll need to enter your 4-digit PIN to switch to your profile.

Computer
  1. At max.com, choose your profile and then Edit Profiles.
  2. Choose an Adult profile (a profile with Kids Mode turned off).
  3. Choose Profile PIN.
  4. Enter your account password and choose Next.
    To reset your password, choose Forgot Password?
  5. Enter a 4-digit PIN and choose Save.
  6. Choose Done.

Now, you'll need to enter your 4-digit PIN to switch to your profile.

TV device
  1. In Max, choose your profile.
  2. Choose the Edit icon pencil below a profile.
  3. Choose Profile PIN.
  4. Press the Select or OK button on your remote to open the on-screen keyboard.
  5. Enter your account password and choose Next.
    To reset your password, go to Forgot my password.
  6. Enter a 4-digit PIN and choose Save.
  7. Choose Done.

Now, you'll need to enter your 4-digit PIN to switch to your profile.

Apple TV: You can add a Profile PIN on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Change or remove a Profile PIN

Choose the device you're using:

Phone or tablet
  1. In Max, choose your profile and then Edit Profiles.
  2. Choose an Adult profile (a profile with Kids Mode turned off).
  3. Choose Profile PIN.
  4. Enter your account password and choose Submit.
    To reset your password, go to Forgot my password.
  5. On the Manage Profile PIN screen:
    • Change PIN: Enter a new 4-digit PIN and choose Save.
    • Remove PIN: Choose Remove PIN.
  6. Choose Done.
Computer
  1. At max.com, choose your profile and then Edit Profiles.
  2. Choose an Adult profile (a profile with Kids Mode turned off).
  3. Choose Profile PIN.
  4. Enter your account password and choose Next.
    To reset your password, choose Forgot Password?
  5. On the Manage Profile PIN screen:
    • Change PIN: Delete the existing PIN, enter a new PIN, and then Save.
    • Remove PIN: Choose Remove.
  6. Choose Done.
TV device
  1. In Max, choose your profile.

  5. Enter your account password and choose Next.

  6. On the Manage Profile PIN screen:

    • Remove PIN: Choose Remove.
  7. Choose Done.

Apple TV:  You can change your Profile PIN at max.com/editprofiles.

Forgot your Profile PIN?

Choose the device you're using:

Phone or tablet
  1. When you're prompted for your Profile PIN, choose Forgot PIN? The app will open a browser window.
  2. If prompted, enter your email and password and choose Sign In. Can't sign in?
  3. Choose Profile PIN.
  4. Enter your account password and choose Next.
  5. Delete the existing PIN, enter a new PIN, and then choose Save.
  6. Choose Done.
  7. Close the browser window and go back to Max.
Computer
  1. When you're prompted for your Profile PIN, choose Forgot PIN?
  2. Enter your account password and choose Next.
    To reset your password, choose Forgot Password?
  3. Delete the existing PIN, enter a new PIN, and then choose Save.
  4. Choose Done.
Email notification
When you add, update, or remove a Profile PIN, we'll send an email to your account email address.
