Max Privacy and Ad Choices

Your privacy is important to us. We've gathered some info that should help.

Max Privacy Policy

The Max Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how we use it, and where and how we share it. Our Privacy Policy is available at: max.com/privacy. Our Children's Privacy Policy is available at: max.com/privacy/children.

Learn about your advertising choices

We personalize some ad experiences on Max. For more information and to make choices about targeted advertising, go to Advertising Choices.

Allow the sale or sharing of personal information

Some US residents can stop the sale or sharing of personal information with third parties. For more info, view the Max Privacy Policy.

Some US residents can also submit a Do Not Sell or Share privacy request on the Warner Bros. Discovery Privacy Center. Submitting a Do Not Sell or Share privacy request affects data collected from all Warner Bros. Discovery products and services (not just Max). For more info, go to wbdprivacy.com/do-not-sell-or-share-request.

Email preferences and notifications

We periodically email you show and movie recommendations, product updates, and special offers. If you don't want to receive these emails, you can turn off Emails from Max and Affiliates in Settings. For more info, go to Max settings.

You'll still receive service emails to your account (such as when you make changes to your password or sign in on a new device).

App Notifications: You might see pop-up notifications on your phone or tablet about new Max shows and movies, as well as other suggestions or notices. You can turn off App Notifications in App Settings on your phone or tablet.

In-app notifications: You'll find personalized suggestions in the Max mobile app. To review the suggestions, choose the Bell icon bell in the upper-right corner of Max (phones and tablets only). In-app notifications are only available with Adult profiles.

How can I delete my account?

Things to know
  • Deleting your account will not delete the app from any devices.
  • If you create a new Max account with the same email address, it won't have your previous settings, downloads, and watch history.

Here's how to delete your Max account:

Step 1: Cancel your subscription

You'll need to cancel your subscription before you submit a delete request. To find out how to cancel, go to How do I cancel Max? You can continue streaming Max until your subscription expires.

Step 2: Submit a delete request

Once your Max subscription has expired, you can submit a delete request.

Choose a device:

Phone or tablet
  1. In Max, choose your profile. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose Privacy & Terms and then Delete My Account. The app will open a browser window.
  3. Enter the information associated with your account and submit the form. If you don't know your Max account email, go to Forgot my Max email.
  4. Check your inbox for an email on behalf of Max (the subject line is: Your request to delete your account).
  5. Open this email and choose Delete My Account.
Computer
  1. Open a browser and go to max.com/account-delete.
  2. Enter the information associated with your account and submit the form. If you don't know your Max account email, go to Forgot my Max email.
  3. Check your inbox for an email on behalf of Max (the subject line is: Your request to delete your account).
  4. Open this email and choose Delete My Account.

Once you complete these steps, we'll delete your Max account if the account qualifies. The account deletion process usually takes 4 to 5 weeks. You'll receive an email letting you know when your account has been deleted.
