Manage the Sports Add-On
When you add the Sports Add-On (or the Premium & Sports plan on Apple devices) you can get front-row access to prestigious live events, league action, and tournaments, including the 2024 Tour de France. For more info, go to Sports Add-On.
You can add the Sports Add-On to your existing base subscription plan. Or if your existing base subscription is billed through Apple, you can switch to the Premium & Sports plan.
The Sports Add-On is available from the following providers:
- Max.com
- Amazon Appstore
- Apple App Store (choose the Premium & Sports base plan)
- Google Play
- Samsung TV
- Select internet, mobile, and TV providers
The Sports Add-On is billed monthly and pricing varies by country. For sports and pricing details, go to max.com/sports.
How do I add Sports to my plan?
You can add Sports to your existing base plan. Here's how:
- In Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Subscription.
(Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
- Choose Get Add-Ons (or Change Plan if your subscription is billed through Apple). For more info, go to Change your Apple-billed plan.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Sports Add-On.
If you get an error message, go to Troubleshooting. - Confirm the change and add your payment information.
How do I remove Sports?
Step 1: Find who bills you
First, find who bills you for the Sports Add-On (or the Premium & Sports monthly plan on Apple devices):
- Open Max and do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Subscription.
- Take note of who your base plan and Sports Add-On are billed through. Your base plan and Sports Add-On can be billed by different parties.
If you added the Sports Add-On at max.com, the Sports Add-On will appear on your bank statement as WBDSports.
Step 2: Remove the Sports Add-On
Here's how to remove Sports:
- In Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Subscription.
(Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
- Choose Remove Sports.
No Remove Sports option? Take note of who your Sports Add-On is billed through and choose them in the Third-party billing section below. - Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the add-on.
When you remove the Sports Add-On, you can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).
Once your subscription is updated, you should get an email confirming the change.
Third-party billing
Here's how to remove the Sports Add-On billed through Amazon:
- Go to Amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions and sign in to your Amazon account.
- In the Your Subscriptions section, find Sports and turn off auto-renewal.
Once canceled, you should get an email from Amazon confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).

Sports is included with the Premium & Sports base plan. To remove Sports, you need to choose a different subscription plan. Here's how:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Max and choose your profile.
For Apple TV steps, go to Change an Apple-billed plan. - Choose Subscription and then Change Plan.
- Choose a subscription plan (a plan other than Premium & Sports).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to change your plan through Apple.
Once your subscription is updated, you should get an email from Apple confirming the change.
Here's how to remove the Sports Add-On billed through Google Play:
- On the Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app.
To cancel on your computer, go to Google's Cancel a subscription on Google Play article. - At the top right, choose your profile icon.
- Choose Payments & subscriptions and then Subscriptions.
- Choose Sports in your list of subscriptions and then Cancel subscription.
Once cancelled, you should get an email from Google confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).
Here's how to remove the Sports Add-On billed through Samsung:
- Go to samsungcheckout.com and sign in to your Samsung account.
To cancel on your Samsung TV, go to Samsung's Cancel subscription article. - From the Purchase History menu, choose Subscriptions.
- Find your Sports subscription and choose Unsubscribe.
Once canceled, you should get an email from Samsung confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).
To remove the Sports Add-On, sign in to your provider's website, go to their Help Center, or contact your provider for help.
Troubleshooting
Choose the message you're getting below:
If you get this message, it means you need to add the Sports Add-On on the device where you started your Max base subscription.
First, find who bills you for your base subscription:
- Open Max and do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Subscription.
(Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
- Find who your base subscription is billed through (top of screen).
- Now, find who your subscription is billed through below:
- HBO Europe, s.r.o. or HBO Nordic AB: Go to max.com/subscription, sign in (if needed), and choose Get Add-Ons
- Amazon Appstore: Open Max on an Amazon Fire TV or tablet, then follow the Add Sports steps above.
- Apple: Open Max on an iPad, iPhone, or Apple TV, then change your base plan to Premium & Sports. For more info, go to Change an Apple-billed plan.
- Google Play: Open Max on an Android TV, phone, or tablet, then follow the Add Sports steps above.
- Samsung TV: Open Max on a Samsung TV, then follow the Add Sports steps above.
If you get this message, you need to contact your subscription provider (the company who your Max base subscription is billed through) to add the Sports Add-On to your base plan.
