Help keep your account secure

Here are some recommendations to help keep your Max account secure.

Suspicious text message (SMS)?
Max will never ask for your passwords, verification codes, payment information, or bank details via text. If you get a suspicious text, don't reply or click any links. Instead, contact us immediately.

Personal information

Max will never ask for personal information such as your Max account password or payment information. If you receive any communication (e.g. texts, emails, social posts, or phone calls) that ask for personal information, it's likely a phishing scam.

Here's how to spot phishing attempts:

  • You're asked to purchase something (including gift cards, pre-paid credit cards, or crypto currency).
  • You're asked to participate in an offer that's exclusive only to you.
  • You're asked to pay through a third-party website.
  • You're asked to click on a URL you haven't visited before. If you clicked on a link, don't enter any information.

If you're concerned you've accidentally shared personal information with a party pretending to be Max, here's what you can do:

  • Contact your local authorities and bank to report any fraudulent activity.
  • Contact us to share the details of the phishing attempt.
