Stop unwanted use of your account

If you think someone might have access to your Max account without your permission, we recommend changing your password. This will sign your account out of all devices.

For a list of devices that have access to your account, go to Manage your devices.

Add a mobile number

For more control over your Max account, try adding a mobile number as an additional sign in method.

To add a mobile number to your Max account:

  1. Sign in to Max on your phone, tablet or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose Add Mobile Number.
  3. Enter your mobile number, and then choose Verify Mobile Number.
    You’ll get a text message with a verification code. Can’t update mobile number?
  4. Enter the verification code and choose Save.

Now you can sign in to Max with your email address or phone number.

Change your password

To change your Max account password:

  1. Sign in to Max on your phone, tablet, or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Password.
  4. Enter your current password.
    If you don't know your password, you can reset your password instead.
  5. Enter a new password and choose Save.

Your password is updated and your account is signed out of all devices. Now, sign in to Max with your new password.

'We couldn't update your password' message

If you get this message, it means the password you entered doesn't match what we have for your account. To resolve this, try the following:

  • Retype your current password (choose the Eye icon to reveal your password as you type it).
  • Reset your password. To do this, go to max.com/forgot-password and enter your account email.
