Activate your Max Subscription

Already activated?
If you already activated your Max subscription, you can sign in with your Max email and password. You only need to activate Max once.

New subscribers: If you signed up for Max (or HBO) through an internet, mobile, or TV provider, you need to activate Max before you can start streaming Max. Your provider will give you instructions on how to do this.

Here's what you need to do:

Activation link

If you received activation instructions when you signed up for Max, follow the instructions to activate your Max subscription. During activation, you’ll create a Max account.

To create your Max account, do one of the following:

New subscribers

Create your Max account:

  1. Complete the account form and choose Create Account.
  2. Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to stream.

Now, you can sign in on any supported device using your Max email and password.

Returning subscribers

To link your new subscription to your existing Max (or HBO Max) account, do the following:

  1. On the Create Your Account screen, enter your Max (or HBO Max) account information and choose Create Account.
  2. On the Account Found screen, choose Verify Email Address.
  3. Check your inbox an email from Max with a one-time code (email subject: Your One-Time Max Code). The email is sent to the email address you entered on the Create Your Account screen.
  4. On the One-Time Code screen, enter the code from the email and choose Submit.
  5. Confirm that you want to connect the subscription billed through your provider to your existing Max account.
  6. Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to stream.

Now, you can sign in on any supported device using your Max email and password.

Didn't get the one-time code email?

  • Search all of your inbox folders for an email from Max (including your Promotions, Junk, and Spam folder).
  • Choose Resend One-Time Code on the enter code screen and check your email again.

Connect your Provider

If you didn't get activation instructions when you signed up for Max, follow these steps:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On your phone or tablet, open the Max app and choose Sign in.
    • On your computer, go to max.com/login
  2. Choose Create a Max account by connecting your TV, mobile, or internet provider.
  3. Choose the company you get Max (or HBO) through, or type their name in the Search box.

  4. Complete the Connect Your Account form and choose Submit.

Didn't get the one-time code email?

Troubleshooting

'Can't verify your subscription' message
  • Make sure Max is included with your internet, mobile, or TV package. To do this, sign in to your TV, internet, or wireless account on your provider's website and make sure Max is included. If this doesn't help, contact your internet, mobile, or TV provider for help.
'Please check your account info' message

If you get this message, try the following:

  • Double check your provider info on the Connect Your Account screen.
  • Make sure your internet, mobile, or TV provider account includes access to Max.

If this doesn't help, contact your provider to confirm your account info and your access to Max.

'Provider account already in use' message

If you get this message when connecting your provider, it means you already connected your provider account. To start streaming, sign in with your Max email and password.

If you're not sure which email is associated with your Max account, go to Find your account email.
